The Maudsley Hospital, maintained by the South London and Maudsley Trust faces closure. On changing services for people who have acute mental health crises Harriet has said:

“I am determined that whatever happens there must be a separate, distinct emergency place for those with mental health problems to go at any time of day or night.  Any change must have the confidence of the service users, and have resources earmarked for the future and the existing service must not close until the new service is up and running.”
