Inviting local GPs to discuss NHS changes - 14/04/2011

The Government proposes to abolish Primary Care Trusts and to pass to GPs the responsibility for commissioning care for patients.

Recently the Health Secretary, Andrew Lansley CBE MP, announced to the House of Commons that he will pause and listen to the concerns expressed by people and medical professionals across the UK.

It is important for me as the local MP to know the views of GPs caring for my constituents.  I have extended an invitation to all GPs to meet with me to discuss their thoughts on the Government's changes to the NHS.
