Joan Walley celebrated her 25th anniversary as MP for Stoke-on-Trent North with family and friends today. She entered the House of Commons in 1987 as one of only 41 female MPs. I spoke at the celebration about the contribution Joan has made in Parliament on a number of issues,  particularly on the environment, as a member, and now Chair, of the Environmental Audit Committee as well as public health issues.
