Meeting with residents from Marie Curie House

I was invited by the Sceaux Gardens Tenants and Residents Association to meet with residents from Marie Curie House in Camberwell last night. Marie Curie is the neighbouring identical block to Lakanal House where six people tragically died in the fire on 3rd July last year.

Answers to questions like why did the fire spread and why were some people not rescued are important, not just for the bereaved families, but also for the local community and those living in the neighbouring identical block who saw the fire from their balconies and are fearful for their safety and the safety of their children.

It is important that local residents who have a huge stake in the findings of the inquest have the best legal representation. I introduced Fran Swaine from Leigh Day Solicitors who has agreed to my request to represent the Sceaux Gardens Tenants and Residents Association at the "super inquest" and I answered the questions which the residents had.
