We will not turn out backs on the world's poor - 20th October 20

This morning I met Loretta Minghella OBE, the director of Christian Aid and Rev Jessie Jackson as part of Christian Aid's Lobby of Parliament.

We will not turn our back on the world's poorest - even when economic times are hard. Aid works - to save lives - and progress has been made.  We must not see that progress slacken. 

The new government must ensure the UK sustains and increases the support for international development which the Labour government pioneered and send a clear message throughout the world of the imperative of meeting the 0.7% target.
