Harriet Harman

Labour Member of Parliament for Camberwell & Peckham

My Allowances

Because I believe my constituents have a right to know what I spend on my work as MP, for many years I have published a breakdown of my expenditure in my annual report.

Being an MP is not just about making speeches in the House of Commons. Helping people who come up against problems is one of the most important parts of my work. Holding regular advice surgeries so I can hear people’s concerns; responding to every constituent who contacts me in a prompt and professional way; and reporting back to constituents through regular newsletters and annual reports are all important parts of my job. To do this I have a strong and dedicated office team and my expenses are used to pay for them and for stationary, stamps, printing and office computers.

Details of my Parliamentary Allowances for the last 7 years are given in the table below.
