This morning I met with the Leader of Southwark Council, Cllr Peter John.  We discussed Southwark Council's pledge to keep all libraries in Southwark open and the Riots, Communities and Victims Panel.  The Panel was set up by the government to examine and understand why the August 2011 riots took place.  I will be meeting with the Panel on Thursday morning to discuss the findings and recommendations emerging from the eight strands of work I took forward following the riots.  I have also invited the Riots Panel to visit Southwark to hear from local residents.
