Visiting Peckham Library ahead of National Libraries Day

It's National Libraries Day on the 7th February when libraries around the country hold events to encourage people to visit, and highlight the importance of local libraries to residents, communities and the wider public.

This morning I visited Peckham Library to talk to the staff and volunteers, and the people who use the library, and to see the wide range of services on offer including homework clubs, job clubs, IT training, classes for new parents and story telling for local primary school children. Peckham Library is also home to Peckham's 'One Stop Shop' and Theatre Peckham. Thanks to Ashoke Chaudhury and Cllr Dora Dixon-Fyle for showing me around.Peckham_Library5_5.2.15.jpg
