Attending Labour's East Midlands Conference 11/07/11

East Midlands Regional Conference

Attending Labour's East Midlands Regional Conference today, Harriet Harman said: 'Its a real pleasure to be here in Leicester, particularly following such successful results in the recent by-election, mayoral election, and local elections. Labour representatives in the East Midlands have a crucial role to play in protecting people from the Tory Government cuts which are too far and too fast. People are concerned about the NHS, about student fees and unemployment. As the Tories let the bankers off scott free, they let Bombardier down, and Margaret Beckett and Chris Williamson have left no one in any doubt about how devastating that blow is not just for Derby but for the whole region and for manufacturing in the UK.'
