Today I met with a group of pensioners at their weekly lunch club at the Back O‘th’ Community Centre in Heywood & Middleton.

I was joined by Liz McInnes, Rossendale Councillor and parliamentary prospective candidate for Heywood and Middleton. We had a really good discussion about the vote on Thursday and about how the cost of living crisis is affecting them as well as the wider community. Their main concerns were over the rising prices of energy bills, as well as feeling isolated when trying to access NHS services.

The by election was triggered by the sad death of Jin Dobbin MP. The by election is on Thursday 9th October.
