Today Cambridge House celebrated the official re-opening of their newly renovated building which was funded by the previous Labour Government’s ‘Communitybuilders’ and ‘Futurebuilders’ programmes. I started the day’s events by meeting with Chief Executive Claire Gilhooly who gave me a tour of the new facilities.
Cambridge House is home to 1st Place Nursery which has already been marked as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, as well as Blackfriars Advice Centre, Community Action Southwark and a range of community based organisations offering local support and advice. Cambridge House also exhibits local artists’ work free of charge, requiring only a donation of an original piece of the artists’ work to use the space.
Full details for Cambridge House and all of the services they provide can be found on their website: http://www.ch1889.org/home.php
Many thanks to Claire for inviting us and good luck to Charlotte, Burger, Stuart and all the team with reopening.
