Deputy Labour Leader, Harriet Harman, MP for Camberwell and Peckham and Secretary of State for Women and Equalities today spoke at the event: Child Trafficking: The New Slavery – Child Trafficking In The African Community.

Ms Harman’s constituency has one of the largest African Communities in the UK. She has worked closely with AFRUCA for many years tackling cruelty against African children.

Ms Harman said, “I am delighted to be speaking at such an important event.  Tackling child trafficking remains a key priority of this government.  Children are the most vulnerable members in society and they must be protected from the cruel industry of human trafficking.”
