I was pleased to see the huge Christian Aid lobby of parliament today. Together with Tessa Jowell MP I met up with the Christian Aid lobbyists from Southwark.

I know that everyone in Camberwell and Peckham who is concerned about tackling global poverty will have been watching anxiously to see what the budget was for The Department of International Development in the Chancellor's statement on the spending review today.

The new government must ensure the UK sustains and increases the support for international development which the Labour government pioneered.
