Commission on Older Women meeting - 17/04/2013

This evening I met with members of the Commission on Older Women in Parliament for an update on the work we are all doing and to discuss the next steps in the campaign.

The Commission on Older Women has been holding events and discussions across the country to listen to the experiences of older women.  In addition we have been collecting written submissions from organisations and individuals. This is the first step to ensuring that public policy evolves to properly consider the lives of older women today, which are fundamentally different to those of the generation which preceded them.

The Commission has been focusing, although not exclusively, on older women in the workplace, older women and their caring responsibilities and older women in public life.
