Defending Upper Norwood Library against Croydon Council cuts - 1

Upper Norwood Library has been open and serving the local community for over 100 years. It is a hub for parents and their children and a valuable recourse for students and the local community. It is jointly funded by Lambeth Council and Croydon Council. This year Croydon Council have said they plan to cut their share of funding by 60%.

Today I joined Steve Reed the Labour parliamentary candidate for Croydon North, Cllr Tony Newman the Leader of the Croydon Labour Group, local ward councillors and local campaigners who all want to ensure the library stays open. Steve has made an election pledge to keep this library open and I was pleased to back up his good work. Steve is a man of actions as well as words.
