Today I attended the Labour Party Eastern Region Conference. The Labour government made a big difference in the Eastern Region like the brilliant Sure Start children centre I visited in Ipswich. And like the cut in waiting lists for hospital treatment - in 1997 there were 32,000 people waiting more than 6 months here in the Eastern Region. By the time we left office there were only 5 people.
