Harriet backs Stockport policeman for George Cross


During her recent visit to Stockport, Harriet heard how DC Stephen Oake was stabbed to death in January 2003 after he tackled a suspected Al Qaeda terrorist during a raid. Along with Ann Coffey MP and the Stockport community, Harriet has pledged her support for the police officer to receive a posthumous George Cross award.
