Following the publication of her report into remittances, “The Hidden Heroes of International Development - Remittances from the Southwark African Diaspora to families and villages in Africa”, Harriet has been asked to meet Ed Balls MP, Economic Secretary at HM Treasury, and Gareth Thomas, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for International Development to explore ideas on how the Government can support people who send vital money to families back home.
