Inviting Peckham Fire Fighters to No 10

Last night I invited Gareth Davies, from Blue Watch Peckham, and Neville Williams, form Blue Watch Old Kent Road, to join me at Number 10 Downing Street to meet the Prime Minister, Gordon Brown.

Neville Williams has served with the fire brigade for 30 years and was in charge of operations the morning of the Carisbrooke Gardens fire in Peckham. Gareth Davies has served with the fire brigade for 14 years and was also on duty that morning. Both officers are working over the Christmas period.

They spoke with the Prime Minister, Jacqui Smith MP and Martin Linton MP and were given a private tour of Downing Street. I was please to accept their invitation to visit them in the new year at Peckham fire station.
