It was fantastic to be in the Quayside Exchange in Sunderland this weekend for the Labour North conference. I was pleased to be able to present, along with the General Secretary Ray Collins, achievement awards to the hard working and dedicated members.

We paid tribute to the work of young members, women campaigners, online campaigners and awarded the woman of the year award to Vera Brydon.

On Saturday morning I met with delegates at the Regional Conference and told members about Labour's plan to fight for every seat in the North East.
