This morning I visited Peckham Fire Station. I thanked Neville Williams, Gareth Davies, Andy Snazell and the rest of the Blue Watch Peckham firefighters for their hard work, dedication and service to the local community.

Following the fires in Camberwell and Peckham in the past year, including the tragic loss of life at Lakanal, I wanted to pay tribute to the crews.

It was a privilege to meet our brave firefighters who do such difficult and dangerous work. I was pleased to be able to thank them personally on behalf of the local community.
