This morning I met with pupils and staff at the new Walworth Academy.

The transformation in the academy is enormously encouraging. I was delighted to see Walworth Academy in its stunning new building and to see how well its students and staff have settled in. It is inspiring to meet young people who are so enthusiastic about their school, are clearly committed to learning and really enjoying being in their new school.

When I visited two years ago, it was clear how committed the academy was to its vision of high attainment for all its pupils, and what a challenge it was to realise those goals. So it's truly impressive how much Walworth has already raised attainment and I am glad to see that the academy's ambition for its pupils is stronger than ever.
