On Friday 28th May 2010 I met with the head of St Thomas the Apostle College to discuss the re-building work at the school.

As part of the Building Schools for the Future programme the school is due to re-built and as part of this programme three other local secondary schools are due for major renovation works.These are Sacred Heart, Highshore and St Michael and All Angels Schools. The new government has not confirmed whether the funding will be honoured.

I have raised the issue with the Prime Minister in the House of Commons (click here for a copy of my speech) and have written to the Education Secretary, Michael Gove MP, to make sure that these schools will receive this much needed funding.
