London Mayor Boris Johnson is cutting £65million from the £450million London Fire Brigade budget.  As a result, the London Fire Brigade may have to close fire stations and Peckham is one of the stations which may be closed.
 
Over the last few years there have been horrific fires in and around Peckham with tragic consequences, lives lost and buildings destroyed.  The work of tackling these fires is of the upmost importance as is the fire prevention work undertaken by the local fire brigade.  The fire station is needed in Peckham so I want them to think again and keep Peckham fire station open.
