Radical change needed after phone hacking scandal - 03/11/11

Today, at Oral Questions, in my first parliamentary appearance as Shadow Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport,  I called for action to ensure that the radical change needed after the phone hacking scandal is not kicked into the long grass:  "With mounting evidence of the Murdoch empire using illegal phone hacking, and after the Press Complaints Commission showed they are completely out of touch by appointing former Thatcher Cabinet Minister Lord Hunt as their new chair -  it is ever more evident that radical change is necessary and must not be kicked into the long grass, so will the Secretary of State tell the House when he expects to be in a position to bring forward his Green Paper and when he expects to legislate?”
