On Saturday I attended the annual Southwark Borough Labour Party Conference. It was good to see so many members at the event which was held at the Beormund Centre in Bermondsey.
I spoke to delegates about the government's unfair and unnecessary cuts which are disproportionately affecting people in Southwark. This year the government cut Southwark Council's funding by £34m while better off areas like Richmond upon Thames had their budgets protected with cuts less than £1m. In Southwark the Labour Councillors are working to protect people from these unfair government cuts.
