Swimming Minister Visits Camberwell Pool

Swimming VisitI invited the Minister for Sport, Gerry Sutcliffe MP, to visit the Camberwell Leisure Centre today to see the condition of the centre first hand. Southwark Council has applied for Government money to help improve the pool and I wanted the Minister to see for himself what we need the money for.

I have always fully supported the campaign to keep the baths open serving the residents of Camberwell and for services to be improved. I am supporting the council’s bid for Government money to help the baths stay open – and am delighted that the Minister could come.

We were greeted by pupils from Lyndhurst Primary School who wanted to tell the Minister how important the pool is for them.
