The 2011 Census and Southwark 7th September 2010

On Friday 3rd September I met with the Leader of Southwark Council, Cllr Peter John, to discuss the 2011 Census and how it will impact on Southwark's funding from central government.

The council raised concerns with me that the way the census is conducted will lead to thousands of people not being counted. This will lead to the council losing out on millions of pounds of funding from central government. It is important that everybody returns their census form when it arrives next May and I encourage you to do so.
