Yesterday I visited the new building project at Luton Sixth Form College with the local MP Kelvin Hopkins. The Sixth Form College received an outstanding inspection report in 2008 and is one of the leading post-16 education providers for over 800 A level students.
The College was given £56 million to construct a state-of-the-art building with new facilities that will include classrooms with computers and wireless internet, an arts studio, music technology suits and a sports hall. The new college building also has a sustainable carbon-free heating and cooling system to reduce the impact on the environment. I look forward to it opening in 2010.
I then visited the GMM Luton (Vaxhall) plant to meet the employees and management team.
