On Thursday 5th of June there will be a by-election in Newark. This follows the resignation of Conservative MP Patrick Mercer after the Commons Standards Committee found he had breached Parliamentary rules on ‘registration, declaration and paid advocacy’. 

I joined Labour’s candidate Michael Payne, and Ed Balls, Shadow Chancellor to speak to people and staff in Newark’s Morrison’s supermarket about the issues they are facing in Newark. They raised with me their rising bills including energy, food and childcare costs.
