Over 100 women attended the Welsh Women's summit ahead of Welsh Conference today.
It was great to see so many women sign up for the event. We talked about women’s representation and how best we can support each other going forward as well as discussing all women shortlists .We ended with a great Q&A session.
Ahead of the Women’s Summit, I joined a meeting of Parliamentary Prospective Candidates.
We discussed current issues affecting them in their seats including which policies are concerning local people, on the doorstep; they included the bedroom tax and energy prices, as well as sharing issues affecting each of them individually.
Present at the meeting were, Mari Williams – PPC Cardiff North, Jo Stevens - PPC Cardiff Central, Chris Elmore – PPC Vale of Glamorgan and Alan Pugh - PPC Arfon. We were also joined by Dave Hagendyk, Welsh General Secretary and Nia Griffith MP, Shadow Wales Minister.
