Today I joined Rita Clifton (Chair, Interbrand UK); Kate Stanners (Executive Creative Director, Saatchi and Saatchi); Gail Parminter, (Founder, Mad Women ad agency) and Andrew Cracknell (author of the Real Mad Men and former Creative Director) on a panel on women and advertising entitled ‘Selling us Short’. Our discussion centred on the fact that although the majority of advertising is aimed at women, 90% of all advertising and marketing campaigns are created by men. The panel was part of the Women of the World festival at the Southbank Centre.
